Reducing Tee Butt Welded Pipe Fittings
Reducing tee is used to change the direction and reduce the flow of the fluids or gas.Butt welded pipe fittings can weld with the pipes so that can anti leakage effectively.Tees have two types:Equal Tee and Reducing Tee.The commonly used wall thicknesses for butt welded fittings are SCH STD,SCH 80,SCH 160.
Reducing tee has a very important effect in the piping system as it can change the direction and reduce the flow of the fluids or gas.Butt welded pipe fittings are the most used fittings in many industies because the great anti leakage and solid connection.
These are reducing tees which could change the direction and the flow of gas or liquid of the pipe system.Reducing tee has two outlet of equal size,and the branch outlet is smaller than the other two ports.
The end of Butt welded pipe fittings are connected to the pipe system by butt welding.Butt weld fittings provide permanent leak-proof performance.BW fittings could made from seamless or welded pipe,and then through several processes formed to get the shape of pipe fittings.
Tees has two types of the end,equal or reducing.
Equal Tee VS Reducing Tee
- Steel Equal Tee pipe fittings: The three branches of tee have same diameters.
- Steel Reducing Tee: The branch diameter is smaller than the main line diameter. Tee reducer is usually described as NPS diameters in 4”x 4”x 3”, 4”is the main line pipe diameter, and 3”is the reducing branch.
